<br />
I thought I'd stop in and let you all know, I haven't deserted my blog! I have had to put card making on the back burner for a bit. I've got to get my canning done before the fruit goes bad!<br />
I'm still trying to do cards in between batches of peaches. :)<br />
<br />
I'll be back! <br />
<br />
*hugs*Ruth (Sabriel)http://www.blogger.com/profile/03961943662925279898noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-116657358363751207.post-83016002254852224432010-09-14T18:41:00.001-06:002010-09-14T18:48:48.222-06:00Time for something different....I got brave and made an easel card! I've wanted to make one for a long time now. This didn't start out as an easel card, but that's what it ended up being! lol <br />
It was actually fun to make, so I'll make more in the future!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAU8SU8YFI/AAAAAAAAKBI/YRrRc2PdVmI/s1600/easel1+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAU8SU8YFI/AAAAAAAAKBI/YRrRc2PdVmI/s320/easel1+sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I 'might' have added a few to many snowflakes....? lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAVQ10hXQI/AAAAAAAAKBQ/INNfU4qzfaI/s1600/easel2+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAVQ10hXQI/AAAAAAAAKBQ/INNfU4qzfaI/s320/easel2+sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAVd4Z7fVI/AAAAAAAAKBg/vkA2PgQlPNY/s1600/easel3+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TJAVd4Z7fVI/AAAAAAAAKBg/vkA2PgQlPNY/s320/easel3+sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The blue base and the blue back are really the same color, in fact its even the same piece of card stock. The light makes it look different.<br />
<br />
I'm going to enter this in the following challenges....<br />
<a href="http://papersundaes.blogspot.com/">Paper Sundaes</a> 3 or more Embellishments I've used Embroidery, Ribbon, Peel offs & glitter<br />
<a href="http://everybody-art-challenge.blogspot.com/">Everybody Art Challenge</a> Other Card form<br />

I used a different border this time. I love doing grid/cut work on parchment!<br />
The tree is printed on the parchment before I start the grid work. All the lighter areas on the tree are embossed from behind.<br />
<br />
I've entered this in the following challenges...<br />
<a href="http://ynschallenges.blogspot.com/">YNS Challenge</a> Anything goes<br />

These are so fun to do! If you want instructions and the tree images go to <a href="http://allthingsparchmentcraft.blogspot.com/">Vickie's</a> blog! She has lots more images.<br />

<br />
On <a href="http://allthingsparchmentcraft.blogspot.com/">Vickie's</a> blog she has taught us how to make grid borders, and she has supplied us with some awesome images to use. I seriously messed up the lettering. Now I know how to do it right, my next one will be much better! :)<br />
This is my version of one of the images, and the border I used is from <a href="http://www.pietenanniejanssen.nl/">Piet and Annie Jensse</a>. The border is number 258.<br />
<br />

Thanks for all your tutorials and help Vickie! <br />

Yesterday 2 of my grandkids were here, Carson and Sophia...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_h6MgwIbI/AAAAAAAAJ2s/hdlI2m5fqOs/s1600/carson+sophia+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_h6MgwIbI/AAAAAAAAJ2s/hdlI2m5fqOs/s320/carson+sophia+sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
See how cute they are! :) Carson is 7 and Sophia is almost 2. <br />
They were coloring an adorable digi stamp I downloaded from <a href="http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/">Delicious Doodles</a> during their birthday bash. Thank you for the free digi stamp, it is just so cute! I wish I would have been able to get all the Birthday Bash digi's! <br />
The kids thought this little penguin was just to cute. Here is Carson's pic...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_moyRQGNI/AAAAAAAAJ20/NqFNNvMXaOI/s1600/carsons+penguin+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_moyRQGNI/AAAAAAAAJ20/NqFNNvMXaOI/s320/carsons+penguin+sm.jpg" /></a></div>While they were coloring the penguin my little pug dog, Shadow,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_ok-LrbCI/AAAAAAAAJ28/9yCjouEGPsU/s1600/shadow.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG_ok-LrbCI/AAAAAAAAJ28/9yCjouEGPsU/s320/shadow.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
was sitting on the floor staring at me. When I asked her what she wanted Carson said "She wants to color with us grandma." Sophia got up and brought Shadow a crayon and tried to put it in her paw. I guess they really wanted Shadow to color also. :) <br />
Shadow didnt use the crayon, but a little later on she got in the mud and then she 'colored' on the picture! lol<br />
<br />
Thats my cute story, thanks for listening. <br />

Well I still want to be a princess!! LOL<br />
My daughter in law has a niece that loves to play princess. She asked me to make a card for her with princess's on it. This is what I came up with...<br />
<br />
I've entered a challenge at...<br />
<a href="http://paperplaychallenges.blogspot.com/">Paper Play</a> Pink to make the boys wink <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG1caew7vAI/AAAAAAAAJ2Y/w2w9d7HZb6I/s1600/princess+sm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="215" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG1caew7vAI/AAAAAAAAJ2Y/w2w9d7HZb6I/s320/princess+sm.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This was a fun card to make. I love stitching (of course) and the curly patterns stitch up so fast!<br />
<br />

I've been trying to make my Christmas cards early this year. So here is another Christmas one. :)<br />
<br />
I decided to enter this is a challenge...<br />
<a href="http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/">A Spoonfull of Sugar</a> Christmas<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG0sZzc4JdI/AAAAAAAAJ2I/1oqeoaBItqY/s1600/christmas+stockingb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG0sZzc4JdI/AAAAAAAAJ2I/1oqeoaBItqY/s320/christmas+stockingb.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><br />
My grandson loves skateboarding, so I made him this card for his birthday.<br />
He liked the words 'in your face'! <br />
I've entered this one in<br />
<a href="http://blog.icopic.com/">http://blog.icopic.com/</a> Color challenge<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG0v_1lYW8I/AAAAAAAAJ2Q/uf94F0ab5CI/s1600/skateboarderb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8mD8gKN0hB4/TG0v_1lYW8I/AAAAAAAAJ2Q/uf94F0ab5CI/s320/skateboarderb.jpg" width="221" /></a></div><br />
On both cards I used peel offs (stars, snowflakes and small stocking), I've had the stitching patterns for years so I dont remember where I got them from. I found the images online, they are not stamps. Getting stamps and a good coloring medium is on my 'to do/wish' list. :)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />
